Biography

Shinobu Hashimoto graduated in architecture at Kogakuin university in Tokyo,in 1992, and began to work at Design and Planning department of the General construction company Fujita corporation.

She’s got the Japanese Architect License “First class kenchikushi” in 1996 and continued to work at Fujita for 6 years as an chief assistant architect.

In 1998 She back to Kogakuin university at the department of architecture, in parallel she’s collaborated in Daisuke Mochizuki atelier, practicing to design a wooden structured housing. Further obtained a skill to speak in English in order to achieving her challenging in the architecture profession to abroad.

in 1999 with a great support by Prof. Tom Heneghan, She entered to the post-graduated laboratory the Berlage Institute Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

She’s taken the thesis class by a guidance of Elia Zenghelis for 2 years and She’s got a master degree of Berlage Institute in 2001, submitted her thesis “Smallness transforms Bigness” and thesis final project “Chip City” navigated by special tutoring of the Dutch architect Rients Dijksta (MAXWAN architects and urbanists, Rottedam). Afterward she’s continued to further development of the Chip City project with Rients Dijkstra at the office MAXWAN, at the same time she’s skilled job experiences on a real dutch architecture field in Rotterdam.

In 2003, She’s moved to Turin city, Italy for the opportunity to work at Architect Arata Isozaki’s office for Olympic winter games 2006 – Turin Ice Hockey stadium. She’s immediately entered to his design team and worked on the phase of definitive and executive project together with the Italian local studio. Further she’s been in charge of the Swimming pool design project in behind the Ice hockey stadium (Pala-Isozaki) at his office until spring 2004.

She’s learned Italian language at Perugia university for foreigners in 2004. Afterwards, She turned back to Turin and found the architect position at Turin local architecture office – Studio UdA, and She’s been in charge of lots of not only local project but also an international project.

In 2008 She’s started to explore further opportunity to collaborate with a various architecture offices, Studio GAA, Bovis Lend Lease, Studio MARC, Alessio studio and Studio LMA. Further she collaborated with cultural association Casartarc, for organizing two events about Japanese architecture works exhibition, which were the side events of the UIA World congress of Architecture in Turin 2008.

Since 2011, She’s got an opportunity to participate as a jury of the academic architectural competition “Compasso volante ”at Politecnico di Milano – POLO territoriale in Lecco.

Recently she works as a free in collaborate with various architects, doing interior design, architectural projects, furniture design, and sometime to join the project of a sustainable architecture construction in Italy. In parallel she works with Japanese architects for challenging to the international competitions or architecture projects in Japan.

略経歴

1992年3月、工学院大学建築学科を卒業。卒業制作「上野は生きている」で大学同年度の銅メダル獲得。

卒業後は 総合建設業フジタ・東京本社設計部に就職、1996年12月 一級建築士資格取得、フジタ設計部チーフアシスタントデザイナーとして、集合住宅を中心に基本、実施設計から現場工事監理を担当。在職6年間で6棟の集合住宅の設計から竣工までを経験する。1997年東京支店へ移動、1998年3月自主退職。1998年4月、工学院大学設計教室へ勤務。　約１年半、建築学科の教授アシスタントとして従事しながら、望月大介建築設計アトリエで住宅設計を学ぶ。

1999年9月、オランダ・アムステルダムにあるThe Berlage Institute (ベルラーへ建築研究所)に就学のため渡蘭。修士論文プロジェクト「Smallness transforms Bigness / Chip City」　を修め2年間の修士課程を終える。

2001年8月から200２年1２月まで、ロッテルダム市にあるオランダ建築都市デザイン事務所MAXWAN（マックスワン）に在籍。ベルラーへでの都市研究プロジェクト「Chip City（チップシティ）」の研究を所長リンツ・ダイクストラ氏と共同で進めると同時に、ロッテルダム郊外地区・ホフブリートにおける都市計画論プロジェクト「LOGICA（ロヒカ）」の提案を行った。

2003年1月、建築家・磯崎新氏デザインの2006年冬季オリンピック・アイスホッケースタジアムIce Hockey Stadium in Turinの計画設計参加のため北イタリア・トリノ市に移住。スタジアムの内装デザインチームに所属し実施設計までを担った。同年１０月から同じく、同氏デザインの公共プール施設Piscina　(ピシーナ)の計画・実施設計にデザインメンバーとして従事した。

2004年7月イタリア語習得のためペルージャの外国人大学へ通ったあと、実践イタリア式建築を学ぶため、トリノの建築事務所StudioUdAに入所。トリノ市物件だけでなく、海外プロジェクトにもデザインメンバーとして参加、アイディアから実施設計、現場監理まで行った。主なプロジェクトは、「トリノのNotary office(Turin)」、「女性ランジェリーのブランドショップ Via Montenapoleone(ミラノ)」、｢トリノ郊外の個人住宅｣,｢トリノの旧工場改装ペントハウスI とII｣、モスクワ市内の家具のショールームなど。

2008年1月より、個人の建築活動開始。「国際ビジネス専門学校のキャンパス計画」を機にローカル建築オフィスGAAとのコラボレーションやトリノ文化活動団体CASARTARCと共に、日本人建築作品展（繊細-SENSAI展、UIA2008建築国際会議の側イベント・日本人建築家作品展）を企画、計画、運営した。現在は個人で建築活動を行う友人とともに提案から実施プロジェクトまで幅広いコラボレーションを行い、店舗コンセプトデザイン、住居改装及び改築デザイン、サステイナブル住宅設計、2010年からミラノ・ポリテクニク工科大学のレッコ建築工科学科のワークショップ「コンパッソ・ボランテ」の審査員を務め、2013年5月には、卒業設計を控えた学生80名を対象に、セミナーを行った。
